As humans, we can be looked at as being comprised of four “bodies”, each having a specific function or role that enables us to experience and evolve as human beings. When we are aware of these bodies, and consciously work towards bringing each of these four bodies into alignment or balance, we feel good, we are healthy and we are in
our greatest state of power.

No one body is more important than the other. The bodies are easy to remember when you remember the letters
P-E-M-S in that order. All bodies are connected to each other and relate to one another in different ways but here
is a general breakdown and description.

Our Physical Body is the body presence that we have. This is the third dimensional tangible part of ourselves, including the muscles, bones, and all of the systems contained within. This is what we “see” when we look at another human being. This is where we experience health or disease or discomfort. This is the physical vehicle by which we move through life with.

The Emotional Body is the next body out from the physical. This is the body that we use to experience love, joy, anger, fear, sadness, etc.  This body can be related to our feelings, our passion, and the part of us that doesn’t “think” but feels…the non-logical side of us. Women as a whole seem to use this body more – sometimes too much when out of balance. Our passions are initiated from our Emotional Body.

The Mental Body is the next body out from the Emotional. This is the part of us that is considered the “brain”. This is the logical mind. This is the body that uses logic to protect us. The Mental Body is often times quite dominant as it doesn’t want us to fail, is only able to draw it’s conclusions from what has happened in our past so limits us in our evolution. This body is the part that is always analyzing, blaming, concerned with what others think, wanting to be in control, etc. It is our programming. It is very necessary yet when over active, can smother the Emotional. The Mental Body is constantly at work.

The Spiritual Body is the part of us that is connected to the all-encompassing dimension that we come from. This is the part of us that is all-knowing; the part of us that is often times referred to as our “Higher Self”. Our Spiritual Body is the connection to Creation, and infinite wisdom. Our Spiritual Body is why we are able to maintain a physical presence, as it is understood at that level that we are here to learn, to gain experiences and to evolve. The Spiritual Body understands these lesson plans although our Mental and Emotional Bodies may not when it causes us pain or discomfort. When we get a “gut feeling” or an “inspiration” it comes from our Spiritual Body. It also can be looked at as our Soul. When sperm and egg come together in the physical dimension to create life, even science can’t explain “why” it develops into a human. It is at that point that the Spiritual Body or soul of that baby enters. When someone dies, their Physical Body remains and it is their Spiritual Body that retracts its energy back into to the dimension from where it resides, taking with it all the experiences that the person had in its lifetime. This is part of the evolution of the Soul.
